Cookie Policy

Last updated: 30 June 2026

This policy explains what is stored in your browser when you use Lalophos, and why. We do not use advertising cookies. We do not use tracking pixels. We do not share browser storage data with any third party for marketing purposes.

What We Store and Why

1. Session Cookie (Essential)

Name: Session cookie (HTTP-only, same-site strict)
Purpose: Associates your conversation turns during an active practice session. Without it, the server cannot maintain continuity across the multiple requests that make up one session.
Duration: Expires when you close your browser (session cookie).
Contains: An anonymous session identifier. No personal data.
Legal basis: Strictly necessary — the Service cannot function without it. No consent required under ePrivacy Directive.

2. localStorage — Cookie Banner (Preference)

Key: _lcookies
Purpose: Remembers that you dismissed the cookie notice so it does not reappear on every visit.
Duration: Until you clear your browser storage.
Contains: The string "1" (confirmed). No personal data.

3. Service Worker Cache (Functional)

Purpose: Caches static assets (HTML shell, icons, web manifest) for faster load times and basic offline capability.
Duration: Until the cache version is bumped by a new deployment.
Contains: Static files only. No personal data is cached.

What We Do NOT Store

Third-Party Storage

Google Fonts is loaded from Google's CDN. Google may set its own cookies or log font requests under its own privacy policy. If fonts fail to load, the Service falls back to system fonts and remains fully functional.

If you use the Tampermonkey userscript or browser extension, those tools have their own storage governed by Tampermonkey's or your browser's privacy policy.

Managing Cookies

You can clear all cookies and localStorage for this site at any time through your browser settings. Clearing the session cookie will end your active practice session. The Service will remain fully functional after clearing — you will simply start a new session.

To block the session cookie, disable cookies for this site in your browser. Note that the Service will not function without the session cookie, as it is technically necessary.

Your Rights

Under GDPR and similar regulations, you have the right to access, correct, or delete personal data we hold about you. As our cookies contain no personal data, exercising these rights primarily applies to any email address or shared verdict you may have submitted. See our Privacy Policy for full details, or contact us directly.
